Board Networking Fair 2020

For nonprofit organizations seeking to diversify their boards and volunteers, a unique opportunity comes on Thursday, February 20, from 5-6 pm at the Heartland Community College Astroth Education Center, 1500 W. Raab Road in Normal.

The Multicultural Leadership Program (MCLP) is sponsoring a networking event, where nonprofit organizations can quickly meet the participants in this year’s MCLP class.  Agencies will have an opportunity to present their current board, committee, or volunteer opportunities to these passionate leaders and professionals. They will rotate between tables throughout the hour.

“Diversity is something local boards are always seeking,” said MCLP Community Involvement Team Chair Kristin Manzi.  “MCLP encourages graduates toward community involvement, so this is a perfect way for our 2020 class and local nonprofits to get acquainted and see if their passions mesh.”

Non-profits must register in advance here.  Space is limited.

MCLP is an intense professional leadership development curriculum which provides a framework for current and potential leaders to improve their leadership skills. The core components of the MCLP curriculum are:

  • to develop servant leadership skills (enabling others to become capable, wise, and better leaders)
  • to become more self-aware and grow as a leader
  • to develop authentic relationships
  • to foster diversity inclusion (welcoming, engaging, and including diverse perspectives)
  • to make a positive impact
