Have You Ever Wondered What It’s Like to Live in Poverty?

It’s time to find out.

Join us on Saturday, October 5 from 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. for a Poverty Simulation.

Experience first-hand some of the challenges faced by people living in poverty through this event co-sponsored by the Multicultural Leadership Program and the YWCA McLean County.

Participants will be assigned to family units with various occupations and responsibilities. During the course of the event, each family must juggle competing demands for their resources through four simulated weeks.

This thought-provoking event ends with a debrief to process the experience.  A light lunch will be provided.

Registration is required.

Location:  Calvary United Methodist Church, 1700 North Towanda Avenue, Normal

Donation:  Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Midwest Food Bank.
