The public is invited to welcome the Multicultural Leadership Program (MCLP) Class of 2014 during the class orientation on July 25. The reception will be held from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Astroth Atrium at Heartland Community College. Alumni of MCLP, as well as mentors, friends and family, are encouraged to attend the celebration.
Twenty-six participants will begin their 8-month leadership development journey in an intense, professional development curriculum that provides a framework for them to learn and practice becoming better leaders for our communities. MCLP develops leaders who want to work with people of all ages, cultures, and walks of life to strengthen and support our community.
Participants for this year’s class are: Ajay Kalavala, Alyssa Bisanz, Bobbi Hynes, Cheryl Hussain, Dakesa Pina, Dipti Hattangady, Emmanuel Calmes, Funmilola Thomas-Albright, Ivan Hall, Jeffrey Hreha, Jerin Thomas, Joy Born, Julie Navickas, Kiranmayi Konam, Kristin Manzi, Lauren Eckhardt, Linda Bollivar, Phyllis Glover-Webster, Sateesh Nallamothu, Seena Bhende, Sheena Bedi, Stephanie Duquenne, Tammy Vancil, Tara Brown, Tejas Jani, and Tim Beccue.
“While the focus of this orientation is to welcome the 5th annual class, we will also recognize the 5th year of MCLP and the success of all our graduates,” says Sonya Mau, Executive Director of MCLP. “Our graduates are our legacy.”
Celebrations to commemorate the 5-year milestone in MCLP history will take place throughout the year and will be announced on the website.
