Multicultural Leadership Program (MCLP), now in its tenth year of leadership development, is planning its annual “Pass it Forward” fundraising campaign for October 23, 2018.

The goal for the campaign is over 100 donors, “With over 80 donors last year, I’m optimistic that we can reach that goal,” said Executive Director Linda Bollivar.    On-line donations can be made at bn-mclp.org/give or by calling 309-556-3589.

“As a community supported organization unique to McLean County, MCLP depends upon our friends and supporters to continue to offer this innovative program,” said MCLP Board Chair Barbara Taft.  “This is a home-grown effort that is nationally distinctive, in that it develops specific skills within a multicultural and talented group, focused on engaging the power of diverse perspectives through inclusive leadership.”

Over 200 graduates have completed the MCLP program in its 10 years.  Classes of up to 26 diverse individuals complete a rigorous nine-month program, which includes not only personal and professional leadership development, but also community awareness and completion of group projects for local non-profits.   This year’s projects are serving Salvation Army, Home Sweet Home Ministries, Vladimir Canterbury Sister Cities, and 261 Fearless.  Prior MCLP classes have completed projects for over forty-three local nonprofits serving McLean County in various ways.

Donations from the October 23 “Pass it Forward” effort will go toward program development and scholarships.
